1:1 Technology Integration

Individual Chromebooks for Every Student

At Cross of Hope, each elementary student has access to their very own Chromebook laptop for learning. This 1:1 technology program means every child can participate in digital lessons and projects without having to wait or share a device. With individual Chromebooks, teachers are able to seamlessly incorporate online resources and interactive activities into daily lessons.

Students might use their laptops to practice math skills with engaging software, collaborate on a class slideshow, or take a virtual field trip. By giving our students personal tools for learning, we ensure they become comfortable with technology as a natural part of education from an early age.

Learning Digital Skills Early

Our students begin learning important digital skills as part of their weekly routine. We introduce age-appropriate tools like Google Docs for writing, Slides for simple presentations, and other educational apps that make learning interactive. Through guided practice, even young learners start creating documents and projects on their Chromebooks, gaining confidence with standard computer programs.

We also include dedicated typing lessons, helping children develop proper keyboarding skills step by step. By the time they finish elementary school, our students are adept at using the computer for schoolwork — a valuable skill in today’s world.

Purposeful, Safe Technology Use

Technology at our school is integrated with purpose and care. Teachers design tech-based activities that enhance the curriculum — for example, researching a topic online for a science project, taking a virtual museum tour in history, or using a coding game to build logic skills. Every use of technology has a clear learning goal; we never use gadgets just for the sake of it.

All computer use is supervised and filtered to be age-appropriate, so students stay safe and focused on learning. Our staff also teaches digital citizenship, so children understand how to use devices responsibly. By introducing technology in a thoughtful, guided way, we prepare students to navigate the digital world safely and effectively.
