Weekly Chapel
Weekly Worship as a School
Every week, our students come together for a chapel service that unites the whole school community in worship. Chapel is a cherished time where children and teachers sing upbeat worship songs, pray together, and listen to a kid-friendly Bible message or lesson. This weekly gathering reinforces that Cross of Hope is more than just a school—it’s a family of faith.
In chapel, even our youngest students participate in praising God and experience the joy of a community worshiping together. It’s a beautiful mid-week reminder that Christ is at the center of everything we do.
Led by Students, Guided by Faith
One unique aspect of our Elementary chapel program is that many parts of the service are student-led. Different students take on roles each week, whether it’s opening the assembly with a prayer, reading a Bible verse aloud, performing a short skit or message, or helping lead the music.
Teachers and our church pastor provide guidance and help students prepare, but the children themselves are the ones up front sharing and leading. This hands-on involvement makes chapel more engaging for everyone and gives students a chance to actively practice their faith. Seeing their peers on stage inspires even the younger ones to participate and be proud of their faith.
Building Confidence and Character
Having students lead chapel helps them grow in confidence and character. Standing in front of friends to speak, read, or sing builds public speaking skills and self-assurance from an early age. More importantly, our kids learn to take ownership of their faith by explaining biblical lessons or demonstrating Christian values themselves.
They discover that worship isn’t just something adults do—they can serve and lead in God’s house too. These experiences instill leadership qualities like responsibility and empathy. Over time, student-led chapel shapes young leaders who are comfortable sharing their faith and who carry those values into everyday life.
